And. We're. Done.

Starting Weight: 198.2 pounds
End of Week One: 194.4 pounds
End of Week Two: 194.4 pounds
End of Week Three: 192 pounds
End of Week Four: 191.5 pounds
End of Week Five: 195.8 pounds
End of Week Six: 193.6 pounds
Difference this week: -2.2 pounds
Weight lost since beginning GO! in December: -38 pounds
Goal: 175-180 pounds
Points: 672

Having my vacation straddle two GO! weeks really wreaked havoc on my score and my weight. For the fifth week I recorded a score of 605 points and was up 4.3 pounds. For the sixth week I recorded a score of 672 and was down 2.2 pounds, but still up 2.1 pounds from my week four weigh-in.

Can't say I'm looking forward to playing another round of GO! right now even though I know that when I stop playing it's too easy to get lazy and pack the pounds back on. Like Vanessa, I'll probably give it a week and then be ready to play again. I think a four-week game is about my limit. After that I start to resent all the rules and begin thinking about all the things I'd rather do than go to bed early or work on a habit.

Till next time.
My score for week 6 was 735. I have to admit, I didn't lose much weight, only 3 lbs. I did enjoy just thinking about this everyday and working on my habits, water, exercise. If I did this again, I think I would be more dedicated to the food part. I think!!

TOTAL WEIGHT LOST THIS GO! ROUND - 4.1

I am going to admit to being relieved this GO! round is over.  I have encountered so many stumbling blocks this round.  Looking back, I am thankful to have had the framework of GO! to keep me somewhat on track.  I always look forward to the end of each GO! round, but then within a week I am ready to play again because it is a quick, slippery slope right back to where I started.

Thank you all for playing!  It was fun...GO! V

Week 6

I thought the purpose was to improve and loose weight. I have gone downhill these past few weeks. I did maintain my weight which was amazing. That 20 minutes of exercise everyday makes all the difference. My score for the week 630 and would of been better if I did not have to take penalty points. I love this game. It has helped me change so many things. I appreciate everyones support.

Keep working hard and don't fall back into your old habits.

Week 6

Points this week 804

Starting weight 147.6
End weight 146
Loss 1.6

This game has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. However, I'm really glad I participated. I wasn't able to loose as much as I hoped but I did loose 6 lbs. I'm going to work really hard at sticking to it. I don't want to put the weight back on while I'm out of town the next 2.5 months. Maybe I'll even be able to loose more.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and support

Lean Mean Machines

Karon pulled us out on this one, our score was 704. Camping is pretty hard on diets, too much alcohol and of course all the good food. This next week is going to be a good one.

Week 4

Starting Weight: 198.2 pounds
End of Week One: 194.4 pounds
End of Week Two: 194.4 pounds
End of Week Three: 192 pounds
End of Week Four: 191.5 pounds

Goal: 175-180 pounds
Points: 520

The weekend camping trip was a blast but I let my good habit, bad habit, and meal points go out the window. This week's going to be another tough one. We leave Sunday for an eight-day roadtrip to Mount Rushmore.

Like my teammate I'm not motivated much to really play hard right now. I'm hoping to pull it together for the next two weeks and then I'm contemplating a break from the game. We'll see...

I owe my teammate, Jacoy, an apology this week.   I had such an erratic week, my daily points went from 30 to 100.  I knew camping would be hard, how can you not indulge with all the amazing chefs cooking up their delectable dishes twice a day?

I also didn't get my 20% bonus.  I didn't fit an extra three hours of exercise in this week.  My kids are out of school now so I am having to fit exercise into the schedule differently and I just did not do it.

I also lost sleep points one day this week, that is not an area I typically have trouble with.

So, no more drinks for me without a 25 point per drink penalty!

I am leaving for 8 days vacation on Sunday, so I don't hold out much hope for a much better week next week.

Week Four

FINALLY I MEET MY WEIGHT GOAL!!!

This week I finally made my weight goal this week.

Beginning weight: 149.8
Ending weight: 148.2
Weight loss 1.6

Total points - 835

I think I finally figured out why I wasn't loosing. I hadn't been taking advantage of the day off and meal off. This week I didn't go overboard but I did take a day off and meal off and not stress over what I was eating.

Week Four

What a tough week. This is the first time I have had a gain. My weight is 186 up 1.4 lbs and I had a total of 590 points. That camping killed me. I have got to learn to control my eating. I walked everyday and really enjoy that. The bad thing about this gain it that I can no longer have alcohol without a penalty. I will have a better week.

I hate to even point it out because I am sure I will have the same 2-3lbs to lose all over again after this weekend.  I have to be totally on par with the game to get to that 145.  So, yay for me I did it which means I can do it again and again and again, right?

The next 3 weeks I have to work out of town, so I hope I can be stronge. But that is why our team name is Tenacious Twosome!!!

What a week!  I am bummed that I am up .5, but not surprised.  Being out of town for 3 days this week makes it rough.  I really feel for you ladies that have to travel so much for work.  T.O.U.G.H.!!!

I am struggling to make my bad habit points.  A few times I missed my good habit(s) of spending one on one time with Jackson and talking to at least 3 people in social situations.

Keep up the good work!  It is fun to play with you all.  GO! V

I ate too much over the weekend in Salt Lake but I had a good time. What's pathetic is that when I got on the scale Tuesday morning I weighed 192.6 pounds - nearly the weight I needed for my 1-percent weight loss goal. I ate within my points Tuesday and Wednesday but recorded a 194.4 pound weight this morning. Yeah, that blows.

My new habit of spending one-on-one time with Carson has proven to be more difficult than I thought it would be. It seems like there's never enough time in the day and at least two nights last week I didn't get home until after Carson was in bed. I guess I'll have to redouble my efforts and make spending time the my first-born more of a priority.

Till next week...GO!

Week Two

What a week. I did not make weight I stayed the same 186.9 and I am happy about that. I only had 700 points this week. I know I can not take a day off a meal off and use my flex points. At my age you can't take advantage of everything life offers. I will do better this week!!!!! Thanks to my great partner we had a total of 769 points for the week.

Jacoy 2nd week

This week didn't go as well as last week. I didn't make my weight goal. Weight this week 150.2 .

Hoping next week will be better!

Karon and Joan's points for the week!

Well Karon is on her way to the great state of Montana, she has left me in charge, big mistake.
Our points combined for the week are 690. I don't know about her weight loss, I think she needs new scales, but I don't have an excuse, I didn't lose, but I've got a good start on this week.

Birthdays are Lethal

This birthday girl didn't do too bad today, but eating lunch out, and then friends had to go to Marions for ice cream, we'll see what the scales say tomorrow.

And she's back...

Just have to say, I had a great weekend with my boys in the city.  I ate way too much and drank a little too.  But today, I am BACK!  I have pointed down to the last cracker crumb today.  No BLT's for me!  (Bite, Lick or Taste)

Happy Monday to you all!

This crazy weather!

I'm tired of fighting this crazy spring weather and trying to find decent weather to walk/run in. Today I bought an elliptical so I have no excuses now. My daughter Tori helped me pick it out and made the statement "I better pick the one I like because I'm going to get it when you quick using it within the year" When I had my other daughter Nikki help me unload it she said "so do I get it when your tired of it right!"

I'm just going to have to shows those girls that there dear old mother is more determined than they think.

Even though I have froze and been wind blown this week the exercise has felt wonderful!!

Starting weight: 152.7
Ending weight: 148
Difference: 4.7
Goal weight: 145

TT Week #1 Score - 813.5

What a week.  I was up from having taken a few weeks off, so I knew I would shed that pretty quickly.  It was hard getting my fitness goal in because of the weather, but  hit the gym a few times and managed to get it all in.

It has been nice spending one on one time with Jackson.  Tonight he whispered to me "You know the rules, tickle my back."  I know these moments are fleeting and I need to hold onto to them when they are presented to me.

Keep up the great work.  This game is fun and pays off.  GO!  V

A near perfect week

Starting Weight: 198.2 pounds
End of Week One: 194.4 pounds
Difference: -3.8
Weight lost since beginning GO! in December: -37.2 pounds
Goal: 175-180 pounds
Points: 838

After going back through my week I realized that through the beauty of days off from various aspects of the game that I'd had a near perfect week. The only points deduction I incurred was a 10-point penalty for failing to practice my good habit: spending one-on-one time with Carson. I'd already used a night off on Saturday because of the time commitment I made to the catfish dinner at St. Helen's. Then, I was unable to spend one-on-one time with Carson on Tuesday night because he was already in bed by the time the Roosevelt City Council finally adjourned for the night.

Such is life. That's the best part of GO! There is an understanding that life will happen. We can plan and plot as best we'd like, but the hours in the day are precious few and we can't always do everything we'd like to do. I'm working to set priorities and keep things in perspective, so at least that's progress.

Karon and Joan

I think we had a really good first week, I haven't been home much, but Karon and I had quite a learning curve our first week, I hope we calculated our points right. I met my weight goal, at 171.7. I think I will do really good next week, when I am home. Our joint points for the week are 717. I think this is making us a little humble. Good luck to everyone in the week ahead!

I survived week one!!

Hurray, I made it through the 1st week. Trying to figure out what I can and can't eat and filling my fridge and cupboards with new food items. May of which Sherm is wrinkling his nose at. A couple of discouraging days when my weight kept fluctuating. In the end I did make my goal of 150.4 lbs.

Week One

This has been one heck of a week, but I think I did a great job. Thanks to Ben reminding me about my flex points last night.

My weight 186.8 yes I made goal. I weighted with clothes on which I never do (TMI) and I still make my goal. Time in the pool and gym while I have been living out of a hotel has helped.

Points-814 and Ben double checked my points.

Total team points for Wendy and I 762. I totaled our points divided by two is that the right way to report points?

Looking forward to week two.

Working out.

Went to kickboxing class tonight.  What a workout!  Last weeks sub didn't prepare me for the fury the regular teacher brought tonight.  But I felt so good when I was done.  Tomorrow is pilates.  It's a little more tender, a little less impact.  But still a workout keeping those core muscles tight.  Come join me, Kody's, 6 p.m.  GO! The day after!!

I've decided that my first day off wasn't worth it! I had been so happy with the little bit I was losing then..I got on the scale this morning. Let's just say the first few days were blown to hell and then some. I'm sure the chocolate covered strawberries and apples my daughter sent for Mother Day didn't help. She said she didn't want me to blow my diet. But they were sooo good.

Day #2

I had a great 1st day (even though I peed a lot!) - for someone who doesn't drink much water, that was a flood of water! My old habit to break was hard--didn't get my points because I absent mindedly took a bite while standing--this is to get rid of my grazing habit without thinking. This is going to be tough for points--but I think it will help tremendously in my weight loss--Joan and I are the oldest in the group--do we get any advantage for that? Nope, but we're still going to kick butt!

Let the game begin!

Starting weight: 198.2 pounds
Weight lost since beginning GO! in December:
-33.4 pounds
Goal: 175-180 pounds

First let me say that Ben and I — aka Team Testosterone — are ready to beat you all like a drum!

Now that the requisite trash talk is out of the way, I'd like to welcome you all to the best way I've found to lose weight and get some control over your life. I am a firm believer that if you follow the GO! game plan you'll notice dramatic changes in the way you look at your physical health, your relationships with others and even the way you feel about yourself.

Bad habit: I will brush and floss my teeth every night. I worked on this habit during the first GO! round I played but dropped it in subsequent rounds and have really slacked off. Although this may sound like an easy habit to work on for some, for me I find myself getting lazier and lazier as bedtime nears and that usually means I blow off the toothbrush and floss. Ewwww, I know.

Good habit: I am stealing my good habit idea from my beautiful, intelligent wife. (I'm sure she won't mind.) I will spend 15 minutes of one-on-one time with Carson each day. This can include playing the Wii, playing Pokemon with him, riding bikes or working on a project. Anything that is just him and me.

So that's it ... let the butt whuppin' begin!

Geoff

Week 1

Weight 152.0 I decided l liked the number on my old scale much better than the new digital scale!

I am really bad about not talking to my family members. I will talk to at least one of my family member (excluding my two daughters, they call me all the time) everyday. Four of the days it must be my Mom I talk to.

For my good habit I will do 15 minutes of Yoga stretching each day. The couple of days that I have tried these they have really helped my stress level.

I am really excited to begin this game and hope that the to win will keep me motivated.

Week 1

So sorry for the delayed post. I have been having issues with my internet at home. I am very excited about the game! Although I would have been thrilled to be partnered up with anyone on the list, I am ecstatic to see that Toni was drawn out as my partner!! In the past we were able to shed alot of weight and gain alot of muscle as a team!! She knows my weaknesses and can not only kick my butt in the gym, at home, or at work, but she is great inspiration for me all the way around!! Me and my 'ocd' will do our best to not let you down, hehehe!!

Meal Plan- Weight Watchers (which I have never done in my life, so all advice and tips from others are greatly appreciated!)
Weight -153.8
Bad Habit- I will stop saying the 'f' word. This will be tough!!! It is also my husbands favorite word. I have found that unless I am talking to a grandparent or a customer, there is not a single conversation that I don't say it in. I don't just use it if I am upset, I use it in basic sentences as an adjective, verb, noun........
Good Habit- I will floss a minimum of two times daily. Currently I floss if something is stuck in my teeth. This is one I promise myself I will do, every six months after every my dental cleaning, and have never ever followed through on it.

Best of luck to all!!

I am Ready to Kick Your Butts

I have gone up a bit since our last game. My starting weight for this game is 188.7.

My good habit- I am going to read something I enjoy not work stuff or crochet for 20 minutes everyday.

Bad habit- I will pick out what I am going to wear the night before. I have a habit of wearing the same 4 shirts every week. I have a closet full of clothes that I never wear. I will not wear the same shirt to work in a two week period. I will throw away any shirts I wear and don't like. Maybe my closet will be skinner at the end of 6 weeks.

Hope everyone has a great week. My first week will be a challenge, we are heading for Lake Mead today. We will have a fun trip and work hard to keep on task.

Vanessa - Habits & Goals

Starting weight: 152.7
Ending weight:
Difference:
Goal weight: 145

As I sit here drinking my single cup of black coffee, I am contemplating my good/bad habits.  I've been thinking about them for a few days actually.  I am really going to challenge myself this time.  I can already say that I have lost my bad habit points for today.

My good habit(s) that I will be working on:
When I am in a social situation I will make contact/start a conversation with at least three people.  If I am in a conversation with someone I will work to invite another person into the conversation.  I am pretty introverted around people I don't know well.  I need to put myself out there more and work to talk to new and different people.

My second good habit is I will spend 10-15 minutes of one on one time with Jackson a day.  This can include projects, reading to him or sitting together while we each read our own book.  Anything that is just him & I.

My bad habits that I am giving up are a cumulation of my past GO! habits:
I will not swear.
I will not text while driving.
I will limit my facebook time to 15 minutes 1 time per day.
(I have already TWD and swore today)

I forgot to add that I will be working on a fitness goal to earn my 20% bonus points.  In addition to my 20 minutes of exercise 6 times per week, I will complete an additional 3 hours of exercise per week.

I am so excited to be playing with all of you!

Please purchase/borrow the Game On! Diet by Krista Verno & Az Ferguson. I have played 4 or 5 rounds of this game now, and it is imperative all players have read the book in order to know the ins & outs of play.

Make sure you have a digital scale. Another lesson learned through playing. We weigh to the tenth of a pound weekly. Scale must be digital.

We will be drawing names and assigning teams once I have the names of all interested in playing.

This blog will be where we keep track of weekly scores, etc. Plan to blog you own post here once per week. You will post your score and your weight lost. This is also a great place to post recipes for sharing, successes and insights.
